Culture Saves Lives! presents The Pop-up Shop

Welcome to Culture Saves Lives at 1 E. Hastings St.

(Open Mondays – Fridays)

Born out of desperation and determination on the streets of the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, Culture Saves Lives is an awareness and direct action campaign acknowledging the tireless work of our ancestors to uphold our culture, reconnecting the disconnected, and educating mainstream services of the power, beauty, and enduring strength of our traditions and ceremonies.

Connection to culture truly saves lives, and we seek to provide space for community members, especially First Nations people oppressed by mechanisms of colonization such as residential schools and the foster care system, to rediscover and celebrate their roots.

Reconnecting all people with their culture, especially First Nations people oppressed by colonization & including those traditionally left out of the circle.
